Aluminium vs Fiberglass small fishing boats? Which is better for off-the-grid camping and fishing? - used aluminium boat

I am looking for a small, 12-16 'fishing boat for camping in the far north to use. I have heard that fiberglass is easily broken when accidentally hit rocks or soil on a beach. Really? Or should I pay more for an aluminum boat? I try to minimize maintenance, so I can spend more time in the water.
